Introducing an invaluable member of the Hope for a Village team. Mrs Joyce Sullivan!

Volunteer Spotlight: Joyce Sullivan

Our Sewing Queen with a Heart for Service

Meet Joyce Sullivan, a devoted volunteer whose hands have sewn love into every corner of our mission. Joyce is not just a passionate seamstress—she’s a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who has chosen to use her God-given talents to bless others.

With a heart full of compassion and a needle in hand, Joyce has sewn hundreds of hygiene kit bags for our Grandma Martha Hygiene Kits for Girls project. Every stitch she makes carries the love of Christ and a desire to uplift girls in Haiti with dignity and care.

Sewing has always been a joy for Joyce, but sewing for charity—that’s her true passion. Her craftsmanship, consistency, and servant heart make her an irreplaceable part of our team. The hygiene pads and kit bags she creates are essential to empowering girls to stay in school and thrive.

Joyce’s unwavering commitment is a beautiful reminder that impact starts with love and willingness. Her quiet service speaks volumes, and we are beyond grateful for all she brings to Hope for a Village.

We thank God for you, Joyce.

Hello

Daniel Augustin!

Hello, my name is Daniel. I am a Cotes-de-Fer native.  I help transport water and food during the week and provide personal grooming to our male elders. I cut their hair and help with some of their daily activities. I love it when they have a fresh cut. It makes them feel good and special.

Meet Daniel Augustin

Bringing Care and Compassion to Côtes-de-Fer

Meet Daniel Augustin, a dedicated team member of Hope for a Village and a proud native of Côtes-de-Fer. Daniel wears many hats in our community—delivering water and food to the elderly, offering personal care services, and mentoring young boys through health and puberty education.

One of Daniel’s most meaningful contributions is providing monthly haircuts to our male elders. What may seem like a small act is truly powerful—restoring dignity, lifting spirits, and reminding each elder that they are seen, valued, and loved.

Throughout the week, Daniel also assists with daily support and companionship, ensuring the elders receive the attention and care they deserve.

But his work doesn’t stop there. Daniel plays a key role in our boys’ health and puberty education, guiding them with wisdom and kindness as they navigate adolescence. His efforts help shape a generation of respectful, informed, and confident young men.

“Serving my community is not just a duty it’s my responsibility,” Daniel shares.
“Through care and compassion, we can build a stronger, more connected Côtes-de-Fer where everyone is treated with dignity.”

We are deeply grateful for Daniel's servant heart and his dedication to our mission. He is a shining example of how local leadership and love in action can truly change lives.

Join us in supporting leaders like Daniel.
