At Hope for a Village, our mission goes beyond providing clean water to the elderly and handicapped in our community. While delivering water to their homes, our compassionate staff noticed another pressing need – the need for medical attention and nursing visits among these vulnerable individuals.
Addressing Critical Health Concerns:In response to this urgent need, we took proactive measures. In 2021, we hired a dedicated home health nurse to provide essential medical care to those in need. Recognizing the growing demand, we expanded our nursing team in 2023, adding another nurse to our ranks. We remain committed to enhancing our medical support, with plans to hire more nurses as soon as funds become available.
Strategic Medical Partnerships:To ensure timely medical assistance, we have forged a valuable partnership with our local clinic doctor. This collaboration allows us to have immediate medical expertise on call, responding promptly to the needs identified during our weekly nursing assessments.
Transformative Impact on Blood Pressure:Upon initiating our clean water program, we discovered that many elderly individuals had elevated blood pressures. Over the course of two years, we meticulously compiled vital sign records. The results have been remarkable. Through our efforts, we have witnessed a significant reduction in blood pressure readings within this population. This positive change has not only improved their quality of life but has also led to a notable reduction in the rates of sickness and, most importantly, death.
