My heart is full — full of gratitude, humility, and awe at what God has done. Fifteen years ago, this was not a big plan or a polished organization. It was simply a calling — a deep conviction that the people of Côtes-de-Fer, my birthplace, deserved dignity, care, and HOPE.
I never imagined the road would be easy. And it hasn’t been.
There have been years when continuing felt impossible. There were times when resources were scarce, when fear knocked loudly, and when the question “How will we go on?” had no clear answer. But one thing never changed: the mission. And one thing never failed: God’s faithfulness.
To those who have walked this journey with us — donors, volunteers, partners, board members, nurses, teachers, and friends — thank you. Your faith, generosity, prayers, and trust have carried this mission forward. And as we mark this milestone, we warmly invite others who believe in HOPE, dignity, and community restoration to join us.
God placed this calling on my heart during a season of personal challenges. I had been a single mother of four children for over five years when I received God’s calling — all under the age of 18, with my youngest only 9 years old. In the middle of raising my children, carrying fear and responsibility, I cried out to God over their lives and our future. And He honored that cry. He sustained us.
My first response was, “How? Why me?”
But God was faithful then, just as He has been faithful every step of this journey.
Over these 15 years, HOPE has taken many forms.
It looks like a young girl staying in school because she has what she needs.
It looks like an elderly person receiving clean water, care, and human presence.
It looks like nurses walking dusty roads week after week to provide care.
It looks like schools gaining access to clean water and sanitation.
It looks like young women rediscovering dignity, strength, and opportunity.
And it looks like volunteers working side by side in the canal, moving toward HOPE for a better tomorrow.
Hope for a Village is not measured in numbers alone — it is measured in lives touched, dignity restored, and love shown consistently, even in the hardest seasons.
This work has always been God’s work. I am simply a servant. As Scripture reminds us:
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9
Every door opened, every provision made, every life impacted is a testimony of God’s grace and the generosity of those who chose to walk alongside us. Many of you have given quietly, faithfully, and sacrificially. I thank you from the depths of my heart.
As we mark 15 years, we do not only look back — we look forward. There is still much to do. We dream of stronger systems, deeper sustainability, healthier communities, and a future where families thrive, not just survive. The seeds planted years ago are bearing fruit, and we remain committed to harvesting HOPE together.
Fifteen years ago, we planted hope.
Today, we continue to live it.
With gratitude and faith,
